One of the most studied treatments, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) includes formal meditation, body scan, and non-strenuous yoga, as well as listening to guided meditations (Kabat-Zinn 1990).

Participants may do these practices for anywhere from ten to forty-five minutes each day (Kabat-Zinn 1990).

However, many couples, often to their own surprise, do come in for therapy in response to this deepest betrayal in the relationship.

Perhaps even more surprisingly, in our practices we have found that many of these couples do indeed heal their Long-Term Love Relationship (LTLR) from the ravages of infidelity.

This course is designed to acquaint the generalist mental health professional (hereafter called “the practitioner”) with knowledge and skills for planning effective treatment to reduce problems associated with a client’s or patient’s use of psychoactive substances.

Emphasizing that concerns related to a client’s alcohol or drug use may emerge at any point in the course of therapy, this course will prepare the practitioner to develop treatment plans to address a client’s problematic substance use and to implement and revise those plans in response to the changing nature of the therapeutic relationship.

Recently, however, reviews of mindfulness-based interventions have re-assessed the data, especially because of small effect sizes and a lack of real control conditions (Farias & Wikhom 2016).

A serious, methodological problem common to most of the studies is the lack of a standard operational definition for mindfulness (Lutz 2015). Net dba Social Work Courses is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs. Net dba Social Work Courses is approved by the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, & Marriage and Family Therapist Board (OH-CSWMFT) to offer continuing education for counselors, social workers, and MFTs. Given the degree to which infidelity occurs in our world today, it is not surprising that a significant number of therapy cases involve helping couples overcome the shattering interpersonal and intrapersonal effects of infidelity.
